Naples and Pompeii in a Day Tour

We meet you at your Naples hotel or at the Naples Garibaldi train station and accompany you throughout the day to visit the highlights of Naples and then we head out to visit the infamous Pompeii Excavations.

The Ancient Roman city of Pompeii is one of the most well-known archaeological sites in the world. As one of Italy’s most popular destinations, Pompeii offers unparalleled insight into Ancient Roman life. Completely buried by the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, this city was accidentally rediscovered in 1748 and careful excavation continues today.

Naples’ historic center is bursting with life with its cafes, bakeries, gelaterias, shops, street performers, and chatty locals. It is certainly a must-see city in Italy and one that oozes old-world charm.

Naples is home to the inventions of the mandolin and six-string guitar. The city boasts the oldest state university in the world, the University of Naples Federico II, and the largest historic city center in Europe. Architecture, music, culinary delights, art and vibrant culture abound here. It is a bustling metropolis which boasts some of the most eclectic sites in the country from world-class museums and architecture to neighborhood football games and shops which transform into private homes at night.

We will delve below its’ surface, both figuratively and literally. A visit to the underground caves and sculptures which are beneath Naples offer a glimpse into life over the centuries. Destinations include Cappella Sansevero, the lively street that runs through the historic center called the Via dei Tribunali, the Cathedral of Naples, and the famous artisan outdoor market which is famous for Christmas crib and scene designs.
